Stahlbus Oil Change Valve 16x1.5
A conventional oil change is always associated with spills and dirty hands. Therefore, this system has been developed with which you can perform an oil change completely safe and clean.
The stahlbus-oil drain valve will easily replace the existing drain screw. When changing the oil, you unscrew the cap and put on the quick release hose connector. Insert and gently turn the release valve until you feel it locate into position, then push it in against the spring tension all the way and turn clockwise to lock. The valve opens and the oil can be drained easily.

I've installed the valve but I haven't yet used it to drain oil. The valve itself is well-designed and well-constructed. It protrudes from the engine block, which means that if you're *not* using a skid plate, you have to ask yourself if the valve plug will be safe in a crash. If you *are* using the stock R1200 GS Adventure skid plate, the valve plus cover rest right against the plate, so smacking a rock *might* damage the valve. However, if you're going to worry about banging rocks with your bike, you should get an aftermarket skid plate anyway.

I installed this in my 2012 K1300s after the first oil change. During the 2nd oil change I was able to drain the oil directly into a container with the attached hose which definately made what can be a messy job,transferring used oil,a thing of the past. Built in redundancy ensures no oil leakage,and there is no chance to damage the threads in the oil pan. A well thought out product that I can strongly recommend.
