    Exhaust Thread Cutting Tool 52mm

    This tool is perfect for fixing threads that are moderately to severely damaged but still there. It can be used whenever the exhaust nuts are removed to clean and reshape the threads. This is a must have tool for any serious airhead mechanic.

    It happens quite often that the exhaust nuts were at some point over tightened of not installed with copper paste or anti seize and they get stuck. Before forcing the issue and ruining the threads entirely, stop and cut the old nuts off. Even then, some damage will have likely occurred to the threads but this tool will save the day (and the head) in that case..

    Size= M52 x 2. Suitable for all R2V models from /5 to R100

    Not for R45/R65

    Good Tool

    Although I've had an Airhead for 10 years, I bought another last year. When I tried to remove the exhaust nuts, both were stuck and would not budge. After cutting them both off I could see that the left one had minor damage from someone previously cutting it off, so ordered this tool. Tool worked well to clean up the minor damage with some cutting oil.

    Fantastic tool! Seems expensive, but worth every penny. I use it to clean the exhaust port threads on my R 100 every time I remove the star nuts. I purchased a project airhead recently and found that the previous owner had threaded one of the star nuts on crooked. The threads werent completely sheared off, but were crosshatched enough to make them unusable. Solutions for this problem Are either too expensive or unacceptable: purchasing a new jug; aluminum welding; bolt-on adapter; etc. I originally tried to source a 38 mm thread die. Not possible. That I stumbled upon this tool on an airhead blog. It's extremely heavy duty and well-made. It essentially cut the threads back to original in about five minutes. Great product.
